Dear Mr. Hampton,
I hope that you are well. I am writing to be considered for an overseas assignment with Talbot Thingamajig, Inc. Specifically, I am requesting to be assigned to help open a branch of the company in Italy. I chose to study Italy in my training course because more than one thousand United States firms have offices in Italy, and around 7,500 United States companies do business with Italy.
Over the course of the next 7 ½ weeks, I expect to learn about Italy’s culture, food, business etiquette, and some important phrases in Italian. Having this knowledge will allow me to communicate easily in the country; also, I will come off as an educated person knowing a little bit about Italy before walking in. when striking a business deal, one of the most important opponents is being confident and feeling secure; this course will teach me a few things so that I will be as readily prepared as possible for the entirely new world of Italy.
Lastly, I think I would be a great addition to this team because I am such a quick learner, which is a necessary trait when traveling to different countries. Having this quality, I will be able to adapt to the unfamiliar way of life in Italy and other countries. I have demonstrated the characteristic of being a quick learner in The Breakfast Cafe when we were only given a day to learn how to prepare a dish; I not only caught on quickly, but on the day of the cafe I was very efficient in the process of making the meal.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
